Vacation Rental Description

Chalet at Sawyer Creek is a cabin halfway up an easy mountain in the Nantahala National Forest region. It's private but not remote and close to lots of Smoky Mountain activities. The great room has plenty of wood and glass allowing nature to come right in. The chalet is surrounded on three sides by a wide deck with a nice mountain view. The upstairs loft has a king size bed, full bathroom, reading nook, and walk-in closet. Downstairs is another bedroom and full bath. The kitchen has everything you'll need...even a waffle maker! Enjoy the stone fireplace on a chilly night. You'll never want to leave!

Area Description

The Nantahala National Forest is part of the Great Smokies. It's the place you want to come to if you are into hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and communing with nature. This area is not heavily touristed, so you can really view the beauty around you. About 80% of the county is national forest. This section of the Smokies is for people who come to the mountains to enjoy the beauty of them and to participate in real mountain activities. It's awesome! You are within a short distance of the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. However, if you do want to mingle with the crowds, a drive of about an hour will take you right into the middle of Gatlinburg, Asheville, Pigeon Forge, or Dollywood.
