The Farmhouse has a private courtyard garden with a sitting area and barbeque.
The original farmhouse and adjacent barn have been converted to provide comfortably spacious and atmospheric accommodation, and is part wheelchair friendly.
To the right of the entrance hall, on the ground floor, is a very large and comfortable living room with dining area. A door off this room leads to the first bedroom, which has a double bed. The staircase in the sitting area leads to the first floor where there are two further bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with three wide single beds. There is also a bath room with shower over, w.c. and washbasin on the first floor.
Immediately off the entrance hall is the family bathroom, with bath, wash hand basin and w.c. To the left is the fully equipped kitchen, with a dishwasher and washing machine, the kitchen also has a garden door which opens onto the terrace.
Area Description
Lurais is in the 'Parc Naturel Regional de la Brenne'. designated such because of its varied and fascinating wildlife and the 'Pays de Trois Vallees', the Creuse, the Anglin and the Gartempe. This is a magnificent landscape of rolling hills and wooded river valleys, farmland and forests, fields, rivers and lakes.
In the surrounding countryside are excellent facilities for cycling, canoeing, walking, riding, climbing, fishing and golf. Good fishing in the many rivers and lakes in the area.
Golf courses in nearby La Roche Posay, Poitiers, Chatellerault and Chateauraux.
The 'Centre-Ouest' is one of the main wine growing regions of France. Some of the best known regional wines are; Vouvray, Montlouis, Muscadet, Sancerre, Pouilly, Saumur Champigny, Gamay de Touraine, Chinon and Bourgueil.
Follow the wine route, visit the local vineyards and sample the wine!
