Unique and quiet location, at the edge of the cliff, 55 m above the Atlantic on the South Coast of the sea resort village of Caniço de Baixo, 3 minute walk to its beautiful pebble beach or 3 minute-walk to the nearby outdoor swimming pool which includes snorkelling and diving facilities. 2 km. from the village of Caniço. The capital, Funchal, is 10 minutes by car; the airport 10 minutes by car.

                                                                          

The Hotel is decorated in Mediterranean country style; entrance hall/ gallery/ reception and all public rooms with paintings by the renowned artist, Siegward Sprotte.       

 

 

 

 

 

The Gallery Restaurant and Atlantic Terrace are located directly above the sea with a 180 degree panoramic view out to the Desertas Islands. A fountain, fireplaces, a profusion of subtropical plants provide a colourful Madeira ambience. 

 

The Sprotte Bar with fireplace and subtropical plants provides an intimate setting for drinks from 10.30 am to 11.30 pm. Daily Happy Hour: 5 pm to 7 pm.

 

Your beautifully furnished double room is on the ground floor with private garden entrance, 12 - 20 m from the edge of the cliff. Your guest room has a terracotta tile floor, telephone, cable TV, fireplace, bathroom and safe (small charge).

Inn & Art offers golfers the ideal location between two golf clubs, Santo da Serra and Palheiro. It is a 10 - 15 minute-drive to both clubs. All Inn & Art guests receive 10% green fee deduction.

Scuba Diving

 

The base is located in Madeira's sole underwater nature reserve which is the only one in the Atlantic with  DIN-Certification (German-Industry-Norm) and it has received the "Tauchen-Award" at the Düsseldorf Boat Fair for 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 for the best diving base in the Atlantic.
