The Woodstock Film Festival, held each autumn (Oct. 10 - 14), is a movie lovers delight.
Summer is the time for H.I.T.S., a major equestrian center located in Saugerties, just minutes from our Waterfall Home. The Village of Saugerties (8 miles) provides easy access to the Hudson River for boating and sailing. The village itself is home to numerous pubs, restaurants, and a variety of shops, including several antique stores where you'll hunt for potential treasures. Saugerties hosts many festivals and events such as the Garlic Festival and the Jazz Festival. A colorful Farmers Market is open on Saturdays in season.
Hunter Mountain (10 miles), provides a wide range of winter and summer activities. Hunter is the first of the three major ski resorts, which also include Windham and Belleayre (ours is a year-round vacation rental). The Catskill Mountain Foundation offers classes in the arts and many craft and culinary events. Nature lovers will appreciate the access to hiking and fishing.
The quaint Village of Catskill (10 miles) is an up and coming arts and antiquing community with several excellent restaurants. Meander a bit further and you'll find Hudson, a town brimming with antique stores of every description as well as a variety of restaurants and cafes. The Hudson Opera House is a historic venue for events of interest.
