North Coast

The North coast of California has a cool and moderate climate year round. Its unlikely to get very cold even in winter in the coastal regions, nor too hot in summer. Unlike Southern California, the northern coast is damp and has spells of rain especially in the winter and spring. Attractions include redwood forests, whale watching, hiking, long unpopulated beaches and charming little coastal communities like Eureka or Crescent City.

Central Coast

The central coast of California is home to the laid-back city of Santa Barbara. Although only a few hours from Los Angeles, the environment is quite different. The city is nestled between the ocean and the Santa Ynez mountains and is heavily wooded with few tall buildings. Pismo Beach is also in the central coast farther north and has a great myriad of lodging and activity chooses. The climate in the central coast is quite moderate with nice warm summers perhaps hitting low eighties to make for perfect beach weather.

Los Angeles County and Catalina

Los Angeles itself is a haven of night life, excitement and urban adventure. If wining, dinning, music and clubbing is not your scene, there may be hope for you yet. Los Angles and the surrounding areas have amazing beaches including Malibu and Zuma to the North, Santa Monica and Venice centrally located and Manhattan beach to the south. Hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains provides stunning spilt views of the city on one side and the ocean on the other. The weather is great year round and the county has a bit of everything for everyone.

Orange County

Orange county is home to theme parks, golf courses, beaches, museums and parks. Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure are found in Orange County as well as Knott's Berry Farm - a theme park with rides, shows and attractions. Like the rest of Southern California, the weather is impeccable.

San Diego County

San Diego is known as America's finest city and not without reason. San Diego boasts beautiful weather, beautiful beaches and a culture focused on health and outdoor activities. San Diego is a big city with a small town feel. The world famous San Diego Zoo, The Wild Animal Park and Sea World are some of San Diego's main attractions. Outside the city are a series of beach communities to the north, and desert ranches to the east.
