There are two areas of Key West which you can find vacation homes.

Old Town is in the west part of Key West and includes many of the more popular tourist destinations including Fort Zachary Taylor, Duval Street, and Mallory Square. Many of these structures have been around since the turn of the 20th Century. If you are into architecture or history, Old Town is the part of the island for you.

New Town is the other part of the island and as the name states, it is the newer part of Key West. This is the part of the island that is littered with popular shopping malls, boutiques, and an international airport. It is the 'busier' area of the island.

There are walking tours and boat tours but if you want to take it all in without the documentation from a tour guide, renting a bicycle is popular among many tourists for getting around this Florida island.
