This beautiful rustic home sits on 34 pristine acres complete with private woods, fresh-water streams, and a pond with live fish - all of which are within walking distance from the front porch! Trails lead from the property directly into the adjacent Manistee National Forest - perfect for leisurely walks through nature and hikes within the Forest all year round. In the fall, acres and acres of wild blackberries are perfect for the picking and the brilliant hues of the leaves are breathtaking. The Manistee River is a mere 10 miles away for canoeing, kayaking, and other water sports. In the wintertime, a trip to the Caberfae Ski Resort is a mere 10 minutes away - and is accessible by snowmobile! All year round, something fun and exciting to do for everyone is nearby.

Being 20 minutes from Cadillac, this home away from home is far enough away to escape the light and sound of civilization while being close enough to Cadillac by car to enjoy dinner and a movie, or just have a fun night out with the kids. The house itself has a beautiful open kitchen/dining/living area with pleanty of space for one family to spread out amongst the four spacious bedrooms - two of them separated for privacy should you wish to vacation with friends. And best of all is a working wood stove that you can curl up next to while you watch the snow fall in cozy comfort.

Area Description

The heart of the northern woods, never a bad time of year to be there. Rivers, lakes and forest are all around. The nearest big town is Cadillac, where we generally go for shopping or to take in a restaurant or a movie. Most days we hike on the property itself, or go to the Manistee river for rowboating or Canoeing. For a longer day trip drive up to Sleeping Bear Dunes (about 45 minutes) or over to Lake Michigan (also about 45 minutes). Cadillac also has public beaches, snowmobiling and ice fishing, there is hunting both on the property and in the surrounding forest.
